UK200Group winter news

Change - and more change, especially in technology and communications - is one of the key concerns facing every business today. Another key issue is the unending flow of regulations.

As accountants and business advisers it is important we stay up to speed and both topics dominated the UK200 Group’s annual conference in Glasgow held in early November. The message was clear - change is a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be a threat. Regulations are a burden, but the challenge is to thrive in the face of regulation.

Pensions was another key topic at the conference and we were able to question the Minister of State for Pensions, Malcolm Wicks MP; while the Group’s own specialist panels looked at such issues as property taxes, implications of the new Enterprise Act, current trends in MBOs, tax investigations, and benefiting from the network of our sister organisation, the International Association of Practising Accountants.
